Custom Fabrication

In 1975, M.E. "Bill" Miller designed and patented a revolutionary thermoplastic bracing system for the treatment of scoliosis. This system, which has become known as The Boston Brace, is successfully used throughout the world.

Boston Brace was formed as a custom fabrication facility for the Boston Brace, and for research and development which has led to other successful bracing products. Examples of innovations to come out of this facility include: the Boston Body Jacket, the Boston Soft Body Jacket and the Boston Overlap Brace (BOB).

What does this capability mean to you?

In a word, it means service.  To us, service means providing you with a brace custom fabricated to cast, CAD, or measurements from the finest materials available...and shipped the same day!  Service means having technical support available every time you call.  Service means providing you with the right brace, the first time, on time.

Due to the experience of Boston Brace's custom fabricators, our commitment to using only the highest quality materials and our dedication to customer service and satisfaction, Boston Brace operates one of the finest custom fabrication facilities in the world. Our technical staff combine the industry's highest level of hands on fabrication skills with the most state of the art technology and equipment to produce each Orthosis with individual precision and care.

At Boston Brace we've made significant investments in bringing technology to the forefront of our quality and processing controls. Automated ovens ensure that our materials are heated to the exact working temperatures required and eliminate many of the material failure problems that others in the industry face today. Over the last two years, we have integrated manufacturing software that enables us to have a real time view of everything in process and have imediate access to all current and historical information for each and every patient. The implementation of the electronic workplace helps to ensure that our staff can access any information needed at anytime, from anyplace, and maintain our focus on delivering the skilled craftsmanship that we have taken pride in for over 30 years.
